Shopfloor...

Today I finished the floor in the shop. I´ve laid a lot of tiles before but only 1:1 scale, but in 1:12 it´s first time. I´m so happy with the result. It has exactly the warm and soft colour I hope for.

The first picture is just painted and glued to the cardboard. On the second picture I started dirtying it. Third picture the floor is very dirty and I had to give it a creme wash to lighten it up. Last two pictures are the finished result...

  1. This is a great floor, Annie! I think you got a little inspiration from Frisioni, anf it tells me, that cardboard is a great material to use for the tiles. I love the patina and the colors (but I guess you know that!

  4. Thanks Susanne... Sure, I borrowed the pattern from Frisoni´s flowershop :0) I just used ordinary tile sealent. The trick is to give the tiles a matt varnish before.

    Ingrid... Thank you :0)

  7. An excellent result. If there are defects ... do not see :-)
The choice of colors is unusual and very elegant, I like it.
Now, I see better finishing of furniture: a really professional job.
I'm passionate about this project, but I see that I'm not alone ;-)

  14. Thanks for all the nice comments everyone :0)

Rudoo... For sure, I´m not that quick. The tiles have been cut for months. I´ve used cardboard cut into 2x2 cm. Each tile is paintet seperately to get the edges. Glued on a piece of thinner cardboard.

  17. They look great. With the sheen on them I initially thought they were ceramic - you've made such a good job of them and the colours are lovely.
