Thought I´d lost it...

For a while I havn´t been blogging, nor have I even been making miniatures. I thought I´d lost the spark of making minis. But fortunately I feel a slight touch of inspiration coming back to me.
Thinking about what went wrong if anything did. I guess I got sick of producing my miniatures for sale, making the same item again and again made me bored. I love developing new items and have loads of ideas, but for a while I´ll be making miniatures for myself to keep. I´m not closing my shop and I will still be selling a few items on Etsy, but I won´t be producing on orders for a while.

  5. Dear Annie! Missed you so much! I adore your work! Please don't ever stop making miniatures. As you say, making the same thing over and over again can be difficult. In the end, perhaps you felt like you were on a production line and we know for a fact that people who work on production lines are not happy people. Just create out of love little pieces of art as you are so very well capable of doing. Your creations are so unique. Take care!

  8. As they say, "sometimes to come back, you have to go". :-) Sometimes we need a little break now and then to recharge our batteries as it were. I think that for some of us artists, custom orders, although welcome, can somewhat dampen our creative spirit when too repetitive. After 13yrs, I'm only just returning to miniatures again, so see, you've not been away too long! lol
Love your mini's and look forward to seeing them refreshed and on your terms. :-) Oh, and your ageing techniques are outstanding by the way.
Have fun creating your art and enjoy the upcoming holidays!

  9. Welcome back Annie. A change is as good as a rest they say so I am sure you will feel re-charged and when ready return to some creative outlet. Take care.

  11. It's good to see you back blogging again. There's no enjoyment if the enthusiasm has gone, is there?

  12. Hi Annie,

I think that this is a common experience for any artist, once your work becomes repetitive you loose the joy of creating.

It seems your break has given you new inspiration and direction and I look forward to seeing new work, it would be such a shame to miss out on your lovely work!!
